Both academically and professionally, Kristen serves in the areas of health, STEM, leadership, and civic engagement. She is led by the mantra, “When passion and purpose collide”, exhibiting how her passion for science, healing, and creating led her away from Big Pharma into her personal destiny; building community, formulating wellness as an organizer and advocate, and fighting for social justice and health equity in local communities. In 2015, Kristen founded a nonprofit organization -Unapologetic, Incorporated. 2018 marked the launch of -The Chemistry Of, now CoacoWells, aligning her passion for formulating wellness products such as loose leaf tea blends and plant based beauty products with her purpose in building community as a cultivated safe space to empower women to address health disparities and more.

Kristen Wells-Lewis is a Beaumont, Texas native and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry with a Biomedical concentration from Prairie View A&M University in August 2015. Kristen received her Masters in Community Development from Prairie View A&M University in December 2018. Her practicum studies focus on an Intersectional Approach To Study the Impact of Health & Community Development primarily as it relates to Food Desserts & Food Security.

Her academic career has culminated a variety of learning experiences that has directly led her desire to heal. Her experiences includes strategic program planning and development, public health, and leadership, while helping to bridge the divide between access, education, and affordability in communities that need them most.
