Ashley G. Scott



By day, Ashley G. Scott serves as the Director of Family & Community Engagement for Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) – the largest public school district in the state. With over 30,000 students across 60 buildings, she ensures the district is strategically aligned with various community partners. Her team is dedicated to cultivating and maintaining healthy working relationships with families, community members, and education advocates across the Indianapolis community and beyond. In her role, Ashley directly oversees 3 district staff members and indirectly manages 38 school level liaisons. She reports to the Chief Communications and Engagement Officer for IPS.

In her spare time, Ashley is the Founder & CEO of CurlyInCollege and Cerulean Consulting Group. CurlyInCollege is the largest national network of multicultural college students with natural hair. CurlyInCollege started in 2014 as an online destination for students seeking the latest news on natural hair and related lifestyle trends. The brand has grown consistently – spanning more than 10 states and engaging more than 20,000 students. Since 2015 CurlyInCollege has hosted more than 120 student-led events on college campuses nationwide and annually reaches more than 85,000 people online.

With over 14 years of local, regional, and national experience Ashley recently launched her newest venture, Cerulean Consulting Group, in July of 2020. Alongside her team of 6 multicultural women, together they provide community outreach and engagement, public relations, and other integrated marketing communications services to organizations throughout the United States. Cerulean Consulting specializes in connecting youth, women, and multicultural audiences to enterprises and initiatives that are mission-driven and positioned to help others thrive, not just survive.
